Peeping on Peter Tom" is an innovative and engaging way for audiences to watch a film about a peeping tom- by peeping at it through holes in a box. "The Love & Loss of Peter Tom" is a short film we created in 2022, which had a successful festival run, becoming a finalist in several international festivals and winning Best Dark Comedy at the Gold Blink Film Festival.
Although the film has yet to have a New Zealand release, we are excited to debut it during the 2024 Auckland Fringe Festival, but with a unique twist. The story revolves around a breakup, with a darker peeping twist. To play on this concept, we thought it would be hilarious to screen the film inside a cupboard, where “you” the audience have to peek through holes to watch it, making you the "peeping tom" on 'Peter Tom'.
We believe this free installation and collaboration with Basement theatre will provide a viewing experience not to be missed, for you never know who could be watching.
