Scientists Teach an AI about Humanity
An Artificial Intelligence will emerge at some time in the next few decades. The AI will challenge everything we believe about ourselves and our place in the world.
An AI is not just a bigger better computer: the AI will be a sentient, intelligent, free-thinking individual. It will be powerful beyond belief, existing on every tablet and smartphone, every computer, and every communications system. All entertainment, finance, commerce, military deployment, resource management and distribution will be run by the AI.
But if the AI doesn’t know how humans work- it’ll make some VERY bizarre, potentially catastrophic decisions.
During the show we teach the AI aspects of human behaviour, helping it to understand humanity.
There are eight aspects of being human that are essential to an understanding of humanity:
Humour
Feelings And Relationships
Storytelling And Metaphor
Superstition And Faith
Creativity
Commerce And Trade
Relationship With The Natural World
Science And Invention
Kindness And Ethics
The show will be a an oddly misshapen sci-fi comedy show combined with a social experiment, an interactive TED talk, and a training exercise.
